Crawdad Crash Releases Fourth Album "Girls Love Rock & Roll"

Atlanta, Georgia — Independent musical artist Crawdad Crash (i.e., 1-man band Steve "Crawdaddy" Crawford, former Hodads drummer and Fontanels singer / guitarist) has released his fourth full album entitled "Girls Love Rock & Roll". The double album contains 20 songs, including 15 originals and 5 covers, in the garage / punk / rock & roll style established on previous albums. This is Crawdad Crash’s tenth release overall after 5 singles, 1 EP, and 3 albums since 2021. Released on 2/12/2026, the album is available on all major digital platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube, Pandora, Deezer, etc.

• 2 new covers — a faster & louder version of the Partridge Family's "I Woke Up In Love This Morning" and a noisy but reverent Who-like version of the Replacements' "Never Mind"
• 2 new instrumentals — the surfy, spy groove of "Spiderweb Surf Walk" and the sloppy, funky "I Wish I Had Just One More Piece Of Chicken"
• 9 other brand new original songs, including the hard rock title song "Girls Love Rock & Roll" and other songs inspired by girls, love, and rock & roll
• 2 singles from 2025 — the gritty, groovy cover of Burt Bacharach & Hal David's "What The World Needs Now Is Love" and the folksy tribute to WCU and homecomings "Homecoming (Fill The Western Sky)"
• 5 new mixes of songs from the "Where Are The Rock 'N' Roll Girls?" EP, which includes a faster, power pop cover of the Hodads' fan favorite "Rock 'N' Roll Girls" and a big beat, glam cover of the Ramones' "Suzy Is A Headbanger", with monster guitar from "Evil" Jim Wright

Crawdaddy said, “I had originally planned to release a new album late last summer, but there were a few delays with some of my collaborators. So, I just kept writing and recording. As I was trying to think of names for this album, I thought about "Loaded" by Velvet Underground (Lou Reed said it was loaded with hits) because I think this is my best stuff so far. Then I thought about "More Songs About Buildings And Food" by Talking Heads — maybe I could do "More Songs About Girls, Love, And Rock & Roll"? This led me eventually to "Girls Love Rock & Roll" as an album title — which then spawned the idea for the title song."

"Anyway, by waiting to release this, I ended up with a lot more songs — hence the "double album" (if it were vinyl). Plus, the extra time allowed me to make these sound better than previous efforts after learning more about mixing and production last year. In fact, I remixed and remastered the 5 songs from the "Where Are The Rock 'N' Roll Girls?" EP to make the sound more uniform across the album because I plan to release this as a physical CD, too."
